So, the State of California – broke and headed to the poor house – isn’t seeking a federal bailout. It’s an “investment,” according to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Is there anyone in America who isn’t seeking a bailout from a federal government that expects to have a trillion-dollar deficit in the new budget year?

Now I remember. Until today, I wasn’t asking for a federal bailout. I don’t deserve it, and I don’t need it, but why should I be left out? Unlike, say, General Motors, I haven’t built a bunch of cars that no one wants to buy. And, unlike California, I haven’t decided that it’s OK to put $28 billion on a credit card and then beg for mercy from Washington.
